NORTH TONAWANDA, NY — A woman faces multiple felony charges after allegedly crashing into a telephone pole while driving intoxicated and later damaging property at the police station.
Hannah Okiec, 27, of North Tonawanda, was arrested Wednesday morning following the incident on Nash Road near Deerfield Drive.
A North Tonawanda Police officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Nash Road at approximately 7:58 a.m. at a high rate of speed and passing other vehicles illegally.
As the officer attempted to position himself to make a traffic stop, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.
Okiec was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested at the scene.
Officers learned that her New York State driver’s license was revoked due to prior DWI convictions.
Upon being transported to the police station for booking, Okiec damaged property inside the facility.
She was charged with driving while intoxicated with two previous convictions within 10 years, a class D felony; aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a class E felony; and criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony.
Okiec also faces numerous vehicle and traffic violations.
She was released on an appearance ticket with a future court date.
