SUMMERHILL, NY — A 38-year-old man faces multiple charges following a domestic violence incident last month.
Joseph A. Frost, of Summerhill, was arrested at 5:18 p.m. Nov. 27 and charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated family offense, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.
Deputies responded to a residence in the town at approximately 3:24 p.m. Nov. 27 for a reported domestic violence incident.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a female victim had been involved in a physical altercation with Frost while in the presence of a child.
The victim stated she had intended to call police for help, but Frost took her cell phone and broke it.
During the investigation, deputies discovered Frost had been previously convicted of domestic violence charges within the preceding five years of this incident, which resulted in the aggravated family offense charge being filed.
Frost was transported to the Public Safety Building, where he was processed and then turned over to Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment part, where he was released on his own recognizance.
Frost is scheduled to appear in Summerhill Town Court on Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
