Serious crash under investigation in Waterford Township

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two vehicles collided on Jackson Road near Ashland Avenue on Dec. 3, sending four people to the hospital.

The Waterford Township Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 4:22 p.m.

Both vehicles were traveling east on Jackson Road prior to the collision.

One vehicle, operated by a 59-year-old man from Vincentown with a 60-year-old passenger also from Vincentown, left the roadway, struck a utility pole and rolled over.

The second vehicle, driven by a 65-year-old man from Browns Mills, also left the roadway and came to rest in the nearby wood line.

Several passersby stopped and rendered assistance to those involved prior to officers’ arrival.

Officers secured the scene, and crash investigators from both the Waterford Township Police Department and the Camden County Crash Team responded to conduct an investigation.

The occupants of both vehicles were treated on scene by medical personnel and subsequently airlifted to Cooper Hospital in Camden.

The incident remains under investigation.
