ALBION, NY — A woman in custody at the Orleans County Jail faces felony charges after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer with urine.
Amanda Clemons-Whited, 41, was arrested Nov. 24 following an incident at the jail.
Authorities said Clemons-Whited verbally accosted corrections officers using racially charged language while in custody.
She allegedly attempted to strike an officer and threw urine from a cup onto an officer, exposing the officer to bodily fluids considered a dangerous substance, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, Clemons-Whited was charged with aggravated harassment of an employee by an inmate, a class E felony, and aggravated harassment in the second degree as a hate crime, a class A misdemeanor.
Clemons-Whited remains incarcerated at the Orleans County Jail.
She is scheduled to appear in Albion Town Court on Dec. 10 for further proceedings.
