OXFORD, MA — Police arrested a Worcester man on multiple charges after finding him asleep in a vehicle at a convenience store early Monday morning.
Oxford Police responded to Cumberland Farms on Southbridge Road at approximately 3:26 a.m. on Dec. 2 for a report of a male party asleep in a vehicle.
Officers located the driver, identified as Zachary Bergeron of Worcester, and observed indicators of impairment as well as suspected narcotics and a firearm inside the vehicle.
Bergeron was taken into custody without incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a loaded handgun, ammunition and a quantity of suspected crack cocaine.
Bergeron does not possess a license to carry in Massachusetts.
He was transported to the Oxford Police Department for booking, and bail was set at $2,500 by the bail commissioner.
Bergeron is charged with operating under the influence of liquor, trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
