BOYLSTON, MA — The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office released a special prosecutor’s report Dec. 3 regarding an officer-involved shooting that occurred in town.
The shooting took place March 5.
The Boylston Police Department issued a statement criticizing the manner in which the report was released.
Police said the report was released without an accompanying press release or summary.
The department said the release could have provided information in a way that supports the community and promotes healing.
Police said the manner of the release risks retraumatizing community members.
The department said it remains committed to sharing accurate information while showing compassion to the community.
