VERNON, NY — A 40-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly pointing a pellet gun at two people during a physical altercation.
Glenn A. Wallis, of Vernon, was arrested Dec. 1 following an incident at 3310 Simmons Road, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
Road patrol deputies responded to the residence at around 7 p.m. for a reported physical altercation involving a weapon.
Wallis was reportedly acting erratically and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at two victims, according to the sheriff’s office.
The two victims attempted to retreat into a nearby residence, but Wallis advanced toward them with the weapon.
A physical altercation ensued between Wallis and one of the victims.
The victim was able to get the weapon away from Wallis.
The weapon was determined to be a handgun or pistol style pellet gun.
Deputies took Wallis into custody without incident upon arrival.
Wallis was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building.
Deputies charged Wallis with two counts of menacing in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and one count of harassment in the second degree, a violation.
A member of the Criminal Investigation Unit also charged Wallis with one count of criminal possession of weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony.
Wallis was lodged at the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await CAP Court on Dec. 2.
