BRUNSWICK, NY — State Police arrested a man on robbery and weapons charges following an armed robbery at a gas station.
Nicholas Dodge, 31, of Brunswick, was arrested Dec. 1 and charged with robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
State Police responded to the Sunoco at 1163 Hoosick Road at approximately 5:12 a.m. Dec. 1 for a report of an armed robbery.
The investigation determined that Dodge allegedly displayed and threatened the clerk with a purple handgun while demanding money from the clerk.
Following the robbery, Dodge reportedly fled the area on foot in the direction of Brick Church Road.
Dodge was identified as the suspect with the assistance of the New York State Intelligence Center, the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit and the Troop G Forensic Identification Unit.
Dodge was located and taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop on Brick Church Road by the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit.
The handgun used during the crime and a majority of the proceeds stolen during the robbery have been recovered.
Dodge was processed at State Police Brunswick and arraigned at the Brunswick Town Court where he was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail.
