SHAFTSBURY, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Trumbull Hill Road on Nov. 29.
Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks were notified of the crash at approximately 5:58 a.m.
When police arrived, no one was with the vehicle.
An investigation revealed the operator was Hunter J. Stratton, 24, of Shaftsbury.
Stratton had caused damage to a homeowner’s property.
The 2000 Dodge Ram sustained minor damage in the crash.
Road conditions were snow-covered at the time, and snow was falling.
Stratton was located later and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Bennington Criminal Division, on Jan. 26, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. to answer to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident.
No injuries were reported.
