CONCORD, VT — A 67-year-old man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Long Hill Road on Nov. 29.
Kenneth Yattaw, of Concord, was driving a 2006 Toyota Tundra when troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks came upon the vehicle on its side in the middle of the road at approximately 7:03 p.m.
Troopers had been in the area on an unrelated call for service.
As troopers spoke with Yattaw, indicators of impairment were detected, according to Vermont State Police.
Yattaw was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
He was transported to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital before being transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, for further care.
The Toyota Tundra sustained totaling damage.
Road conditions at the time included ice and snow, though weather was clear.
Alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
