SOMERS, NY — A 34-year-old man has been arrested following a long-term Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
Andrew J. Giannetta, of Somers, was arrested Nov. 26 and charged with two counts of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age, Class D felonies.
The investigation began in February 2024 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted a CyberTipline report to the New York State Police regarding suspected child sexual exploitation material being shared through a social media platform.
The investigation identified Giannetta as the suspect, leading to the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
Multiple electronic devices were seized for forensic analysis.
The arrest was made by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Somers, in coordination with the New York State Police Troop K Computer Crimes Unit, following a review of the evidence and consultation with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
Giannetta was arraigned before the Somers Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.
He is scheduled to reappear in court on Feb. 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
