Woman arrested on weapons, drug charges in New Hartford

NEW HARTFORD, NY — A New Mexico woman was arrested following a traffic stop on Seneca Turnpike on Nov. 26.

Oneida County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a 2003 Cadillac Deville at approximately 11:19 p.m.

Deputies believed the operator, Stephanie J. Williamson, 40, of New Mexico, appeared to be under the influence.

After further investigation, Williamson was taken into custody for DWI.

During a search, deputies found Williamson in possession of cocaine.

A subsequent search of her vehicle revealed a loaded unregistered handgun.

Williamson was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Building for processing.

She was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and numerous vehicle and traffic law citations.

Williamson was held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment in CAP Court.
