WEATHERSFIELD, VT — A 43-year-old man was arrested on an active warrant and later charged with illegal possession of firearm components.
Mark Gilbert, of Weathersfield, was located at his home at approximately 9:47 a.m. on Nov. 27 by Windsor County Sheriff’s deputies.
Gilbert had an active arrest warrant for violating his probation on underlying charges of domestic assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and interference with access to emergency services.
He was arrested and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield.
Deputies obtained and executed a search warrant of the residence during the investigation.
Gilbert was found to be in possession of a 3D-printed lower receiver and a firearm silencer, according to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.
Gilbert is prohibited from owning such devices under both federal and Vermont law.
He was cited on the new charges and the court set additional bail of $5,000.
The Vermont Department of Corrections conducted an emergency arrest of Gilbert for violating his probation.
He is being held without bail until his court date on Dec. 1 at 1 p.m.
Vermont State Police assisted during the execution of the warrant.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting with the investigation.
