Man arrested on warrant in Danville

DANVILLE, VT — A 20-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant Wednesday night.

Vermont State Police troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were on patrol in the area of Peacham Road at approximately 11:18 p.m. Nov. 26 when they learned Hunter Briggs of Danville had an outstanding warrant.

Troopers located Briggs at his residence shortly thereafter.

Upon successful identification of Briggs and confirmation of the warrant, he was taken into custody.

The warrant included charges of DUI, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, careless or negligent vehicle operation and vehicle operation with a suspended license.

Briggs was transported to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

He was cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on Dec. 1 at 12:30 p.m.

Briggs was then transported to Northeast Correctional Complex, where he was held on $50 bail.
