Two arrested on drug charges in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY — New York State Police arrested two women on drug charges following a traffic stop on Nov. 25.

Anna M. Bentley, 32, of Plattsburgh, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree and two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd degree.

Kristy L. Rozell, 33, of Saranac, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.

At approximately 11:11 a.m., troopers observed a green 2007 Ford traveling on Cornelia Street commit a vehicle and traffic law violation.

Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the occupants, who were identified as Rozell and Bentley.

During the interview, it was determined that Rozell had an active bench warrant, and she was taken into custody.

Further investigation determined both occupants were in possession of narcotics.

The subjects were arrested and transported to State Police Plattsburgh for processing.

Rozell was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on the bench warrant and the new charges.

Bentley was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Plattsburgh City Court at a later date.
