Man arrested on multiple charges in Dundee

DUNDEE, NY — A 50-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attempting to break into a business with a baseball bat.

Christopher M. Trank, of Dundee, was taken into custody without incident around 10:17 a.m. on Nov. 26 at 8 Water St.

Yates County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Village of Dundee for a report of a male attempting to gain entry to a local business by hitting the door with a baseball bat.

An investigation revealed that Trank allegedly caused damage to the business door and made threats to harm the owners while holding the bat in a threatening manner.

The incident occurred in the presence of two minor children.

Trank was charged with menacing in the second degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second degree.

He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
