WEST WINFIELD, NY — State Police responded to 160 Burrows Road in the village of West Winfield for a reported structure fire at approximately 6:02 a.m. on Nov. 25.
Shortly after arrival and during firefighting efforts to extinguish the flames, personnel observed one occupant deceased inside of the residence.
Investigation into the cause and origin of the fire is pending, however, a preliminary investigation does not indicate foul play.
State Police were assisted on scene by State Fire, West Winfield EMS/Fire Department, Bridgewater Fire Department, Cedarville Fire Department, and Herkimer County Emergency Management.
