WATERBURY, CT — Seven men were arrested Nov. 25 following a drug bust that yielded fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, marijuana, three handguns and more than $23,000 in cash, police said.
Members of the Waterbury Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, and Auto Theft Task Force along with Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force attempted to apprehend Adam Guzman, 27, of Waterbury, who had two active felony warrants.
Guzman fled on foot when officers attempted to stop him in a vehicle and was quickly apprehended without incident in the rear of 84 Angel Drive.
The passenger of the vehicle, Ronnie Linnen, 27, of Waterbury, fled on foot into an apartment at 84 Angel Drive.
Three other men — Alexander Diaz, 25, Rayshawn Maxwell, 25, and Rashaan Reeder, 30, all of Waterbury — fled from the residence on foot and were apprehended without incident.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at 84 Angel Drive, Apartment A.
Two additional individuals, Christopher Lanham, 36, and Donavan Hardison, 35, both of Waterbury, were also arrested during the investigation.
Police seized 400 grams of fentanyl, 6 pounds of marijuana, $23,462 in U.S. currency, 3,440 bags of heroin/fentanyl, 1.6 kilograms of cocaine/crack cocaine, a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun, a Glock 27 .40 caliber handgun stolen out of Hartford, and a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun stolen out of Rocky Hill.
The total street value of the seized items was approximately $120,000, police said.
Guzman was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of more than 1 ounce of heroin, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of more than ½ ounce of cocaine/cocaine base form, and additional firearm and narcotics offenses.
Diaz, Lanham, Hardison, Reeder, Maxwell and Linnen were each charged with various firearm and narcotics offenses, including operating a drug factory, possession of more than 1 ounce of heroin, criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of cocaine/cocaine base form, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and interfering with an officer.
