Man arrested on shoplifting charge in South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police arrested a man accused of stealing flashlights from a home improvement store Saturday morning.

Angel P. Dota, 29, of Waterbury, was taken into custody at 9:56 a.m. at Lowe’s on Buckland Hills Drive.

Police responded to the store after receiving reports of a shoplifter in custody.

Dota allegedly stole two flashlights valued at $53.96.

He initially gave officers a false name, according to police.

Dota was charged with sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.

He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.
