FLOYD, NY — A Holland Patent woman was arrested on drunken driving charges stemming from a September motor vehicle accident.
Shauna Broadbent, 34, of Holland Patent, was arrested Nov. 23 by a member of the STOP DWI Unit, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
Broadbent was charged with aggravated DWI, driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by the combination of drugs and alcohol, and driving while intoxicated per se, all unclassified misdemeanors.
She also was charged with other vehicle and traffic law violations.
The charges stem from a two-car personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred Sept. 14 at approximately 8:55 p.m. on New Floyd Road in the town of Floyd.
Deputies determined that Broadbent was traveling north on Koenig Road in a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse when she collided with a 2019 Toyota Tacoma traveling west on New Floyd Road and driven by William Spinelli, 29, of Syracuse.
Floyd Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance responded to the scene and Broadbent was transported to WYNN Hospital for her injuries.
Spinelli was evaluated by EMS on scene.
None of the injuries appeared life threatening.
Deputies determined that Broadbent was at fault for the accident and that she failed to stop for the stop sign located at the intersection of Koenig Road and New Floyd Road.
Broadbent was issued appearance tickets for the charges, which are returnable to Floyd Town Court at a later date.
