BOW, NH — A Concord man who was observed driving at 130 mph was among 35 drivers stopped during a traffic enforcement initiative on Interstate 93.
On Sunday, State Troopers from the Special Enforcement Unit and the Troop D barracks conducted a traffic enforcement initiative on I-93 southbound in Bow utilizing the State Police aircraft.
Over three hours, Troopers observed 40 violations.
Of these violations, 25 drivers were observed traveling 90 mph or faster, and two were found to be driving with suspended driving privileges.
At 9:37 a.m., Sgt. Jay LaPointe, while in the State Police aircraft, observed a white vehicle traveling southbound at an extremely high rate of speed.
Sgt. LaPointe measured the speed of the vehicle several times, with a high speed of 130 mph.
Sgt. LaPointe continued to observe the vehicle and relayed its location to Troopers on the ground.
Trooper Kosakowski conducted a traffic stop and then arrested the driver, identified as Logan Drew, 22, of Concord, for charges of reckless operation and operating after suspension.
Drew is scheduled to appear in Concord District Court on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Currently, the penalty for driving recklessly at 100 mph or faster carries a minimum fine of $620 and a 60-day loss of driver’s license.
Drivers should be aware that effective January 1, 2026, the minimum penalties will increase to $930 and a 90-day loss of driver’s license for a first offense.
