DUMMERSTON, VT — Vermont State Police are searching for a white box truck or tractor-trailer that struck and broke a power pole before leaving the scene.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the intersection of Middle Road and Houghton Road.
Troopers responded to the scene after receiving a report of a tractor-trailer that had struck a power pole while turning around.
Upon arrival, troopers found a power pole that was struck and broken in half, along with tire tracks consistent with those of a box truck or tractor-trailer.
The vehicle had already left the scene when troopers arrived.
A witness who reported the incident described the vehicle as a white box truck or truck with blue writing on the cab, possibly pulling a trailer.
Troopers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
