LLOYD, NY — A Highland man has been indicted on attempted murder and assault charges following a domestic dispute at a hotel in November.
Mark H. Cannon, 32, of Highland, was indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury in connection with an incident on Nov. 17 at a hotel on US-9W in the town of Lloyd.
New York State Police troopers from the Highland barracks responded to the hotel at approximately 3:56 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute.
The investigation revealed that Cannon engaged in a physical altercation with a 56-year-old female victim.
During the incident, Cannon repeatedly struck the female, causing serious physical injury, according to police.
Cannon was indicted on charges of attempted murder in the second degree, a class B felony; two counts of assault in the first degree, class B felonies; assault in the second degree, a class D felony; and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Cannon was arraigned at Ulster County Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail.
