MOREAU, NY — A Hudson Falls man was arrested Friday on charges of third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
Shannon J. Piper, 47, of Hudson Falls, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by Moreau Town Court, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest stems from an incident that allegedly occurred on or about Sept. 22 in the town of Moreau.
Piper is accused of engaging in vaginal sexual contact with a person less than 17 years old while he was over 21 years old.
Third-degree rape is a class E felony.
Endangering the welfare of a child is a class A misdemeanor.
Piper was arraigned before Judge Jeffrey B. McCabe in Moreau Town Court.
He posted bond and was released pending further proceedings.
