HADLEY, MA — A driver who fled from Massachusetts State Police on Interstate 91 was arrested Thursday after police boxed in his vehicle at a Bay Road residence.
The pursuit began at approximately 10:30 a.m. when a blue Infiniti failed to stop for state police near the Oxbow on Interstate 91 North.
The vehicle exited in Northampton onto Route 9 and continued into Hadley.
Hadley police patrols, including one operating an unmarked cruiser, located the vehicle moments after it entered town.
Officers surveilled the vehicle as the driver attempted to blend into traffic and used side streets in an apparent effort to return to the highway.
The driver, unaware an officer was following, maintained normal speeds and eventually pulled into a driveway on Bay Road.
The driver parked within a row of vehicles in an attempt to hide.
Hadley police then boxed in the vehicle and took the driver into custody.
No one was injured in the incident.
The driver was transferred to the custody of Massachusetts State Police.
