PORTLAND, ME — Portland police arrested a man in connection with a stabbing at Longfellow Square Park on Saturday night.
Officers responded to the park at 8:03 p.m. for a report of a stabbing.
Police found a 66-year-old man from Freeport suffering from knife wounds to his face.
He was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers arrested Donald Cousino, 48, who is unhoused, a short time later.
Cousino was charged with aggravated assault and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
The individuals involved were not known to each other, and witnesses reported that the attack was unprovoked.
