AUBURN, NY — Investigators seized cocaine and arrested a man following the execution of search warrants on Nov. 21.
Burrell M. Wingate was taken into custody after investigators from the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force executed search warrants on his person, vehicle and residence in Auburn.
The task force had been investigating the illegal possession, sales and distribution of narcotics in Cayuga County.
During the search, investigators located and secured a quantity of cocaine hydrochloride, a digital scale and U.S. currency.
Wingate was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.
He was transported to Auburn City Court for arraignment and released.
The Finger Lakes Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the New York State Police, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office and Auburn Police Department.
The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office will be prosecuting the case.
