BOSTON, MA — A 16-year-old male was arrested Friday in connection to a July homicide in Mattapan.
The juvenile was arrested at about 12:26 p.m. at District E-13 in Jamaica Plain.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant out of Suffolk Superior Court for murder, firearm used in a commission of a felony, assault and battery attempt with a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.
The 16-year-old is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court.
The arrest stems from a shooting that occurred at about 12:23 p.m. on July 5, 2024, when officers assigned to District B-3 responded to the area of Gladeside Avenue and Donwood Terrace for a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to local hospitals, one with non-life threatening injuries.
The second victim was suffering from life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as Christian Cousins, 17, of Stoughton.
The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit continues to investigate the incident.
