STAMFORD, CT — Stamford police arrested two men and seized several firearms, including 3D-printed “ghost guns,” during a series of search warrant executions in the city early Nov. 19.
The Stamford Police Department reported that its Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit, with support from the Special Response Team, K9 Unit, and Midnight Patrol Division, conducted the operation as part of an ongoing firearms investigation.
According to authorities, detectives searched the person, vehicle, and residence of Shadair Hall-McBean, 26, of Stamford.
Upon arrival at the residence, Hall-McBean and his brother, Shamel Hall, 31, also of Stamford, initially refused to comply with officers’ commands and delayed exiting the home.
Both were taken into custody and charged with interfering with a search warrant.
Police said the search turned up four 3D-printed Glock-style handgun frames, a 3D printer and printer parts, a 3D-printed 10mm high-capacity magazine, 102 grams of marijuana, several firearm parts and accessories, three 9mm high-capacity magazines, 350 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 27 rounds of .45-caliber ammunition.
A search of Hall-McBean’s vehicle, which is registered to Shamel Hall, uncovered a loaded 3D-printed 9mm “ghost gun” with 10 rounds.
Investigators said Shadair Hall-McBean later admitted ownership of the firearm in a post-arrest interview.
Shadair Hall-McBean faces charges including criminal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine, manufacture of a firearm without a serial number, illegal transfer of a firearm, interfering with a search warrant, criminal violation of a protective order, and unsafe storage of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
His bond was set at $250,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 20.
Shamel Hall was charged with interfering with a search warrant and three counts of illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine.
His bond was set at $5,000, and his court date is scheduled for Dec. 3.
Stamford police said the investigation is ongoing.
