RANDOLPH, VT — Vermont State Police have charged a former employee of AADCO Medical in Randolph with embezzlement, petit larceny, and fraudulent use after an investigation into unauthorized credit card purchases.
Police said that on Oct. 31, the Royalton Barracks was contacted by representatives from AADCO Medical regarding suspected embezzlement at the company.
An investigation by state police, which included a review of financial records, revealed that over $100 was embezzled through unauthorized credit card transactions from July through September.
Authorities identified Cindy L. Mears, 49, of Braintree, as the suspect.
Police said Mears was hired as an administrative assistant in May and was terminated from the company in October.
On Nov. 20, Mears was arrested and processed at the Royalton Barracks.
She was released with a citation to appear at 8:30 a.m., Jan. 21, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Chelsea.
Police said no further information is available at this time.
The affidavit of probable cause will become public following Mears’ arraignment.
