HALFMOON, N.Y. — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hunter D. Thompson, 29, of Troy, on Wednesday on a warrant issued by Halfmoon Town Court.
Thompson is charged with identity theft in the 2nd degree and grand larceny in the 4th degree, both class E felonies.
He also faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree and petit larceny, both class A misdemeanors.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Thompson is accused of stealing a debit card on April 11 in Halfmoon and allegedly posing as the victim to obtain money and goods exceeding $500.
He is also accused of taking a motor vehicle from the victim without their consent and stealing both the victim’s social security card and driver’s license.
Thompson was arraigned before Judge Joseph V. Fodera in Halfmoon Town Court and returned to Albany County Jail, where he is being held on separate charges pending further proceedings.
