SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police arrested Everett R. Trotman, 30, of Windsor on Thursday night after a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Graham Road and Mark Drive.
Officers with the South Windsor Police Department responded at approximately 10:01 p.m. to reports of a collision involving Trotman.
According to police, Trotman purposefully and recklessly pulled in front of another vehicle before slamming on his brakes, causing a crash and potentially injuring two passengers in his own vehicle.
Investigators said Trotman appeared to be under the influence at the scene and was uncooperative with officers.
Trotman allegedly refused to consent to standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
While in custody, police said Trotman interfered with the booking process by attempting to flood his jail cell by stuffing his shirt into the toilet.
Trotman faces multiple charges, including operating under the influence, criminal mischief in the second degree, interfering with an officer, drinking while driving, two counts of reckless endangerment, and failure to wear a seat belt.
He is being held on a $10,000 surety bond and is scheduled to be transported to Manchester Superior Court this morning at 9 a.m.
