NORWALK, CT — A six-year-old child was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Seaview Avenue on Nov. 20 at 3:46 p.m., according to Norwalk police.
Police said Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting the incident.
Norwalk Police, the Norwalk Fire Department, and Norwalk Hospital EMS responded to the area of 11 Seaview Avenue.
Patrol officers found the juvenile on the sidewalk and adjacent grass area of the westbound lanes.
First responders provided emergency medical care before the child was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital.
According to investigators, the driver was traveling eastbound on Seaview Avenue when the child ran west across the roadway and was struck.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The Norwalk Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Identification Unit responded and are leading the investigation, which remains active.
