FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police arrested Emmet Blaney, 19, of Massapequa, NY, on Nov. 19 on charges of criminal attempt to commit disorderly conduct and criminal attempt to commit criminal trespass in the third degree.
Police said the charges followed an investigation into Blaney’s online promotion of a SantaCon gathering at specific private residential beach addresses.
Authorities stated Blaney had no affiliation with the locations and did not have the homeowners’ permission before the promotions were posted.
Police said the event promotion reached over 600,000 views online.
Blaney, a Fairfield University student, was released on a promise to appear.
He is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Dec. 8.
