ST GEORGE, VT — A St George man was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly crashing a vehicle into a building on Barber Street and exhibiting signs of impairment, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers from the Williston Barracks responded at about 4:01 p.m. to the parking lot of Simon’s Gas Station after receiving a report that a vehicle had collided with the front porch of the old schoolhouse next to the gas station.
The operator, identified as Justin Beaudry, 33, of St George, was screened for driving under the influence of drugs and subsequently arrested.
Troopers determined Beaudry also had an active arrest warrant in the state for failing to appear on a previous DUI charge.
Bail for the warrant was set at $500.
Beaudry was transported to Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division for arraignment and later released on a citation.
He is scheduled to appear in court on February 12 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges of DUI-Drug and negligent operation.
Hinesburg Fire Department, Richmond Rescue, Handy’s Towing, and the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles assisted at the scene.
