Man arrested on motor vehicle theft charges in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Auto Theft Task Force, the Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, and the Intelligence Unit arrested a Providence man on motor vehicle theft charges Wednesday.

Ibraheem Al Tekreeti, 28, of Providence, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant for two counts of larceny over $10,000 (motor vehicle theft).

Al Tekreeti was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was presented as a Superior Court violator and held without bail.

In separate arrests Wednesday, the ACI Investigations Unit charged Maryann Rodriguez, 46, of Central Falls, as a fugitive from justice from the State of Florida as a probation violator.

Rodriguez was arraigned in Third Division District Court and remanded to the custody of the Sheriffs Department.

The ACI Investigations Unit also charged Rolando Rojas, 46, of Providence, with domestic violence – violation of a no contact order – 3rd offense.

Rojas was arraigned in Third Division District Court and remanded to the custody of the Sheriffs Department.

Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Antonio Cueva, 30, of Cranston, on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Providence Police Department for domestic assault, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic vandalism.

Cueva was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Providence Police Department.

Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force also arrested Jerome McCarthy, 37, of Providence, on a probation violation warrant out of the State of Connecticut for an original charge of burglary.

McCarthy was taken into custody without incident and turned over to officials at the Adult Correctional Institutions.
