KINGSTON, NH — Police arrested a motorcyclist more than four months after a crash that left his passenger with serious injuries.
The Kingston Police Department responded to a motorcycle crash on Little River Road at approximately 5:38 p.m. on July 3.
The passenger was airlifted to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.
The operator was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation conducted by the Kingston Police Department with assistance from the New Hampshire State Police, Brentwood Police Department and East Kingston Police Department, police determined the operator was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.
A search warrant and arrest warrant were issued on July 16 for the operator, identified as Cody Harkness of Amesbury, Massachusetts.
Charges include DUI aggravated – collision resulting in serious injury, subsequent possession of a controlled drug – cocaine, possession of a controlled drug – cocaine with intent to sell, knowingly transport drugs, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, falsifying physical evidence, driving after suspension – resulting in serious bodily injury, reckless conduct, second degree assault and operating after certification as a habitual offender.
Harkness was arrested in Seabrook on Nov. 18 and later turned over to the Kingston Police Department.
He is being held without bail.
