Search warrant leads to two arrests in Orrington

ORRINGTON, ME — Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Ruby Lane on Nov. 17, leading to two arrests in connection with an ongoing investigation into burglaries and thefts.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office served the warrant at approximately 5 p.m., concluding a several-month investigation.

Deputies recovered a stolen truck, a stolen motorcycle, more than 60 gross grams of methamphetamine and a quantity of ammunition during the search.

Carl McCullough, 49, of Orrington, was arrested and charged with burglary and theft.

Michael Smith, 60, of Brewer, was arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs.

Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

Information obtained during the search led the Brewer Police Department to obtain and serve an additional search warrant at a residence in Brewer later that evening.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office assisted Brewer police during their investigation.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, with additional charges and arrests possible.
