WORCESTER, MA — A Massachusetts man faces multiple child sex abuse charges following an arrest by Rhode Island authorities and the FBI.
Jason Vergara, 37, of Worcester, was arrested on November 18 by members of the Rhode Island State Police Special Victims Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Vergara was charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation, one count of possession of child pornography, one count of production of child pornography and one count of third-degree sexual assault.
He was taken into custody on an extraditable affidavit and arrest warrant.
Vergara is being held in Massachusetts pending extradition to Rhode Island.
Man arrested on domestic assault charge in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was arrested on a domestic violence charge.
Eddie Lee, 63, of Providence, was arrested on November 18 by members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Lee was charged with domestic violence felony assault on an affidavit and arrest warrant issued by the Providence Police Department.
He was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Providence police at the scene.
Jersey City police sergeant charged with sexual assault in Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A Jersey City police sergeant was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a juvenile.
Andrew Labruno, 44, of Dumont, was charged on November 17 with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest, which resulted from an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Englewood Police Department.
The Englewood Police Department contacted the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit on November 17 regarding an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile in Englewood.
Investigators determined that Labruno, a stranger to the victim, engaged in conversation with the juvenile on a social media application and arranged to meet.
Labruno sexually assaulted and endangered the juvenile at the juvenile’s residence in Englewood while the juvenile was home alone, according to investigators.
Labruno, who is employed as a sergeant with the Jersey City Police Department, was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
