NUTLEY, NJ — Police are investigating two attempted burglaries that occurred Thursday morning and afternoon in separate incidents.
The first incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Grant Avenue, where three male suspects attempted to gain entry to a vehicle parked in a driveway.
After being unsuccessful, the suspects walked to the rear of the home and attempted to gain entry through a window.
The suspects were described as wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, dark-colored sweatpants, black face masks and gloves.
They arrived and left in a white Acura, possibly a TLX.
The second incident occurred at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Beech Street, where two individuals were captured on video footage attempting to make entry to a home via multiple entry points.
Those suspects were described as wearing all black with ski masks, white hard hats, yellow traffic vests and gloves.
The suspects left the area in a dark blue Mercedes GLE crossover.
Police said it does not appear the incidents involved the same suspects.
The Nutley Police Detective Bureau is actively investigating both incidents.
Police are encouraging residents to ensure all doors and windows are locked securely, keep vehicles locked without keys or key fobs inside, maintain working lighting and surveillance cameras, and report any suspicious activity immediately.
