WILLIMANTIC, CT — A man was stabbed multiple times during a domestic dispute Sunday evening and remains hospitalized.
The Willimantic Police Department responded to a residence on Pleasant Street at approximately 5 p.m. following a report of a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Officers administered immediate lifesaving measures and transported the victim to Windham Hospital for treatment.
The victim was subsequently transported to Hartford Hospital, where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
The investigation revealed that the incident occurred during a domestic dispute involving the victim and his girlfriend.
An adult male, known to both parties, intervened in the dispute.
During the encounter, the intervening male allegedly stabbed the victim numerous times before fleeing the scene on a scooter.
The investigation is ongoing.
Detectives are gathering intelligence and collecting evidence.
Police said the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
