UTICA, NY — A traffic stop on Valley View Road led to drug charges for a local woman Thursday night.
Utica Police units assigned to the Crime Prevention Unit conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 13 for vehicle and traffic law violations.
Officers noticed the vehicle was occupied by several people and observed open alcoholic beverage containers inside.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and officers located several corner-knotted baggies containing a substance consistent with cocaine.
The driver, Morgan Stockdale, 24, of Utica, was taken into custody and transported to the Utica Police Department based on admissions made at the scene.
An investigator with the Special Investigations Unit charged Stockdale with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and vehicle and traffic law violations.
