UTICA, NY — A woman has been arrested after police determined a child’s injury resulted from discipline rather than an accidental fall.
Utica Police units were dispatched to Wynn Hospital on Oct. 25 regarding a child who suffered an injury relative to a reported fall.
At the hospital, concerned family members believed it was unlikely the injury occurred in the manner described.
An investigation was undertaken, and in early November it was determined the injury was suffered as a result of discipline inflicted by the child’s mother.
On Nov. 14, Wyzetta Henderson, 41, of Utica, was taken into custody and charged with assault in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
