AUBURN, NY — A woman was arrested after allegedly brandishing a shotgun at a neighbor during a dispute over loud music on Nov. 15.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Melone Village Apartments at approximately 9:42 a.m. for a noise complaint.

Dispatch advised officers that both neighbors were calling to complain.

One neighbor reported loud music while the other reported that a person had pulled a machine gun on him.

Officers responded to the area and set up a perimeter before making contact with both occupants.

The weapon was determined to be a legally owned 12-gauge shotgun, which was confiscated.

Miana Addison, 28, of Auburn, told officers she brought her gun out to confront her neighbor because of his loud music.

The victim told officers that his neighbors were pounding on his walls, causing items to fall off, and yelling at his front door.

When he went to see what was going on, he realized they were yelling at him.

He then saw Addison brandishing the gun while yelling about his music.

Addison’s actions placed the victim in fear for his safety, according to police.

Addison was transported to the Cayuga County Jail where she was released after arraignment.

She was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and menacing in the second degree, both Class A misdemeanors.
