BRIDGEPORT, CT — Police arrested two people and seized more than 150 pounds of products containing THC during compliance inspections at three smoke shops on Nov. 10.
The Bridgeport Police Narcotic and Vice Division conducted the inspections with Connecticut’s Department of Consumer Protection Drug Control Division and the state’s Revenue, Health and Addiction, and Department of Labor divisions.
Officers inspected Dubai High at 51 Boston Ave. and seized numerous items containing Tetrahydrocannabinol with a total weight of 135 pounds.
The investigation is ongoing.
At Raads Smoke Shop at 774 Boston Ave., officers seized items containing THC weighing 15.86 pounds and $3,000 in cash.
Amr Kaid Alsaidi, 34, of Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with sales of a controlled substance not narcotic/hallucinogen and possession of cannabis.
Bond was set at $5,000.
At Moralez Market at 847 Kossuth St., officers seized items containing THC weighing .06 pounds, $1,241 in cash, narcotic materials, residue and scales.
Jenny Francisca Salcedo, 53, of Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with operation of a drug factory, possession with intent to sell/dispense narcotics and possession of cannabis.
Bond was set at $5,000.
The Connecticut Department of Labor ordered all three businesses to close until further notice.
