HIGH BRIDGE, NJ — Firefighters responded to a residential fire early Sunday morning in the Herman Thau/Petticoat Road area.
Squad 14, operating as Squad 51, was dispatched at approximately 1 a.m. to a reported outbuilding fire.
Squad 14 arrived first on scene, with Deputy 14 reporting a small fire inside the residence.
Chief 14 arrived shortly after and assumed command of the incident.
Crews forced entry into the structure and encountered moderate smoke conditions throughout, along with active fire in the floor and walls.
The fire was quickly extinguished.
After knockdown, firefighters ventilated the residence and performed overhaul operations.
The swift response resulted in minimal fire damage to the residence.
