LEWISTON, ME — A 70-year-old man died Saturday afternoon when two vehicles collided on Lisbon Street, with one crashing into a hair salon.
Lewiston Police responded to the crash at approximately 1:10 p.m. involving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler and a 1995 Ford F-150.
The initial investigation revealed both vehicles were traveling outbound on Lisbon Street when they collided as a result of an improper lane change.
The F-150, operated by Lawrence Williams of Minot, struck a utility pole.
The Jeep Wrangler, operated by Ronald Potvin of Lisbon, left the roadway and collided with JD Cuts Hair Salon at 1270 Lisbon Street.
Williams was deceased when emergency personnel arrived.
Several individuals inside the salon were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police shut down Lisbon Street between Scribner Boulevard and Pleasant Street while investigators reconstructed the accident.
Lisbon Street has since been reopened to traffic.
