YONKERS, NY — A pedestrian struck by a vehicle Tuesday night was an off-duty Yonkers police officer, authorities said.
The accident occurred just after 9 p.m. in the area of Tuckahoe Road and E Grassy Sprain Road.
The officer was in stable condition and being treated at an area hospital, police said.
The driver remained at the scene.
Police said the incident is being investigated as an accident with no criminal element.
No on-duty Yonkers police officers were involved in the accident.
