BANGOR, NY — New York State Police arrested a 46-year-old man on a felony strangulation charge following a domestic dispute Nov. 11.
Douglas J. Recore, of Brushton, was charged with Strangulation in the Second Degree, a class D felony.
Troopers responded to County Route 8 at approximately 10:59 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute.
An investigation determined that Recore and the victim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
During the incident, Recore allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat, causing the victim to lose consciousness.
When the victim regained consciousness, Recore had fled the residence.
Recore was later located and taken into custody.
He was transported to SP Malone for processing.
Recore was arraigned in the Town of Malone Court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $50,000 secured bond, or $100,000 unsecured bond.
