Man arrested on criminal mischief, trespass charges in Hobart

HOBART, NY — A Jefferson man was arrested following a domestic incident in which authorities say he stayed in an apartment without permission and caused significant damage.

Schoen Stocks, 26, of Jefferson, was arrested Tuesday on charges of criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony, and criminal trespass in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a domestic incident in the village on Oct. 26.

Upon arrival, deputies determined Stocks had been staying in an apartment for several days without the owner’s permission.

Further investigation revealed the apartment had sustained a significant amount of damage.

Deputies located and arrested Stocks on Tuesday.

He was released on appearance tickets and directed to appear in Town of Stamford court at a later date to answer the charges.
